Moving thriftily onwards

One of the perks of being a teacher is  definitely the six weeks off work during the summer holidays. However, when you have little control over your purse strings and an intrinsic desire to shop, having this much time off work can be extremely detrimental to your bank balance.

So, with my desperate urge to shop and self inflicted financial predicament I turned to my local charity shops for help.

I used to spend my weekends routing through an endless sea of hideous garments in the hope of finding some unique retro threads.  It's been a while since I've had a good rummage, but I think I've found some good little bargains!

Apologise in advance for the heavy filters on these photos, but I have just downloaded the iPhone app, 'InstaSize' and I'm absolutely in love with all the camera flare effects!

Although not a charity shop find, these New Look sandals are definitely my find of the season. I managed to grab them in the summer sale for a ridiculous £7.

My black denim Levi 501s are my go-to shorts. I found them on ebay as full length, extremely unflattering mum jeans and chopped the legs off (absolutely no skill was required in this activity).

Have you managed to pick up any unique bargains this season?

  2. I love this outfit (and your hair is amazing). I'm a big believer in charity shops and most of what appears on my blog is from them—and always a major steal! xx
