Wrapping up the races

The sun shone down on fellow blogger, JenniferJayne and I as we arrived at Glorious Goodwood yesterday  for a day full of betting and sipping on G&Ts.
The horse racing event is one of the more glamorous festivals in Britain and it is fast catching up with the sartorial heights of Ascot. Goodwood operates a strict dress code and the race goers certainly appeared to be taking those strictures on board.
With the dress code in mind and absolutely no idea what the weather had in store, finding a dress was practically impossible for me. After traipsing around every shop Westfield (and every online store I could think of), I gave up.

Luckily for me, my mother didn’t. So, you can imagine the relief when she showed up at my flat a day before the event armed with this Missoni-esque wrap dress from Forever21. Her long career spent working on various fashion magazines didn’t go to waste after all!

Even though the horses I bet on didn’t run quite fast enough to make me enough money to buy an actual Missoni frock, I had an absolutely wonderful time.
Did anyone else attend on the weekend? I'd love to see your outfits too!

  10. Gah look at all those hats! God it looks so upper-crust, haha. I've never been to a race before but I have this romantic "Pretty Woman" version of it in my head. I love what you wore- so stylish and summery!

  11. It wasn't far off your interpretation, actually. Or maybe that was the gin tricking me.
Straw boaters and salmon trousers were in full force!
